Draftkings, the creators of the "Draftkings Sportsbook & Casino" Sports Betting App, is growing and we’re seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our remote first Sportsbook Mobile team. This team is at the forefront of developing and enhancing our cutting-edge Sportsbook features on iOS and Android native apps, using the latest native technologies and best practices. Our team owns real-time sports betting, live scores, personalized recommendations, search, streaming, and more. The crown is yours as you transform product vision into high quality features that put the customer first. This role requires a high level of personal accountability and a blend of strong technical skills, creative problem-solving, and a collaborative spirit. You’ll be in a cross functional team working closely with product managers, backend developers, and designers to drive our product vision, to deliver a best-in-class Sportsbook experience. What you’ll do as a Lead Software Engineer

  • Develop systems and APIs that power a rich set of applications used by a large and passionate group of users every day.

  • Develop new features, iterating on the current systems, and maintaining our high code quality.

  • Care about agility as much as you care about scalability. We roll out products very quickly and are looking for a team that can pivot at a moment’s notice.

  • Work closely with the Product Team to understand the scope of the project and define technical requirements.

  • Mentor and grow junior members of the team in best practices in RnD.  

What you’ll bring

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Android development

  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Android SDKs.

  • Background in the development of custom views and animations.

  • Experience with reactive programming – RxKotlin/RxJava, Kotlin coroutines.

  • Strong knowledge of OOP principles and Design Patterns.

  • Expertise in native operating system capabilities, app signing, and deployment processes, and consumer app best practices.

  • Experience in consuming REST APIs and with Dependency Injection.

  • Solid debugging and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience with Jetpack Compose and Redux will be considered an advantage.

Join Our Team

We’re a publicly traded (NASDAQ: DKNG) technology company headquartered in Boston. As a regulated gaming company, you may be required to obtain a gaming license issued by the appropriate state agency as a condition of employment. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through the process if this is relevant to your role.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000.00 – $198,000.00, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range and how that was determined during the hiring process.
